Make it easy for yourself!:

South Tyrol’s Apple Landscape on the “Sunny Side of the Alps”

Europlast has delivered several million large crates for the collection and storage of fruit to its customers in South Tyrol, Friuli, as well as to other countries in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe since the company’s inception in 1995. Our long-standing and successful customer from Friuli currently uses the box CTZ-P, together with boxes from other manufacturers, in his cold store. No matter whether Gala, Jonagold, Granny Smith or Golden Delicious, the apples are all stored in our customer’s refrigerated warehouses using energy-saving and thus cost-saving methods. Using the Europlast CTZ-P, the apples can be stored with 20% less energy consumption thanks to optimised ventilation surfaces.

When asked about the greatest benefit offered by this innovative box, the management replies:    “Reducing costs and thereby protecting the environment is a key concern in our cooperative. Storing fruit is a cost-intensive undertaking, so in order to remain competitive on a global scale, we highly appreciate ideas like the one implemented here in this fruit collection box. Also, EUROPLAST’s production is CO² neutral, which is a standard that inspires us.”    The boxes, which often only reach the end of their service life decades later, are returned to Europlast, recycled and used to produce new ones. There is no waste and no carbon footprint left behind – this is just one example of the success of an Italian-Austrian cooperation.
